In partnership with McLeod Workforce Development, medical professionals from McLeod Health encouraged students to consider a career in health care by participating in the Biomedical STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) Health Career Fair at West Florence High School as a part of STEM Week on February 1, 2023.
Participating professionals had the opportunity to interact one on one with students to discuss their educational backgrounds, special certifications, and interesting facts about their careers. Attending the Biomedical STEM Health Career Fair on behalf of McLeod were McLeod Hospitalist Dr. Nicole Joyner-Powell, McLeod Family Medicine Physician Dr. Yvette Mbangowah, McLeod CRNA Karla Matthews, Nurse Extern Caleb Fowler, and Health Careers Program Coordinator Matthew Peake.
Florence 1 School students who are currently involved in the McLeod Health Careers course also were on hand to elaborate on the numerous health science education opportunities available to Florence 1 School students in partnership with McLeod Health.
