A Jacksonville, Florida-based off-site construction company recently announced that it will begin operations in Florence County.
Innovative Construction Group (ICG), an entity of PulteGroup, Inc., said they would make a $35.6 million investment that will create 179 new jobs as part of PulteGroup's ongoing expansion of its ICG platform, according to a news release from Gov. Henry McMaster's (R) office.
“Florence County and the entire state of South Carolina have been extremely supportive of our new operations,” ICG President Ryan Melin said, according to the news release. “We have already begun hiring and look forward to moving into production early next year.”
ICG provides framing solutions, design services, wall panels and other manufactured goods with on-site installation to provide a full-frame shell construction procedure.
“The 179 new jobs that ICG is bringing to Florence County will have an immediate impact on the region,” McMaster said, according to his news release. “We wish them the best of luck here in the Palmetto State and look forward to seeing them grow and succeed here for a long time.”
ICG’s new facility will be located at 2570 Florence Harllee Boulevard and will enhance the company’s fabrication and distribution abilities to meet increasing demand.
“It’s a great day as we announce the establishment of ICG in Florence County,” Florence County Council Chairman Willard Dorriety, Jr., said, according to the news release. “We are delighted ICG chose Florence County to locate, and we know that this move will not only help them to push the industry forward, but their capital investment and job creation will enhance our local economy. We look forward to a long and prosperous relationship with ICG."
The Coordinating Council for Economic Development has given the go-ahead for job expansion credits with regards to the project, along with the county giving a $1 million Set-Aside grant to aid in the development costs of the project.
