University of South Carolina-Aiken issued the following announcement on November 1.
Aiken, SC (11/01/2021) — Dr. Sandra Jordan, University of South Carolina Aiken distinguished chancellor emerita, has accepted the position of vice president at the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC). According to their website, the mission of SACSCOC is to assure the educational quality and improve the effectiveness of its membership institutions.
Jordan has volunteered service to SACSCOC for the past several decades, including serving as a member on off-site and on-site accreditation teams, serving on the SACSCOC board, and the executive board. Additionally, Jordan chaired the most recent committee that reviewed and made changes to the SACSCOC standards.
In 2018, Jordan received SACSCOC's highest recognition, the James T. Rogers Distinguished Leadership Award. "After a rewarding 35+ year career on university campuses, I'm looking forward to putting my knowledge to work to serve universities and colleges in a new way including in the critical areas of quality assurance and continuous improvement," Jordan said.
