McLeod Health issued the following announcement on October15.
Palmetto Leadership Dillon County visited McLeod Health Dillon on October 14 for healthcare presentations and an overview of the hospital’s services.
Dr. Amid Hamidi, Medical Director of Emergency Services at McLeod Dillon, spoke to the group about his role inside the Emergency Department, and the impacts COVID-19 has had on the community and the hospital. He also answered questions about COVID and the myths surrounding the COVID vaccine.
In addition, Dr. Hamidi discussed the importance of telehealth during the pandemic, while Candice Tyler demonstrated a telehealth consult for the group.
McLeod Health Dillon CEO Joan Ervin provided an update on recent additions to the medical staff and current projects underway at the hospital, while Tracey Campbell, OB Nurse Navigator, shared with the group the journey to receive the international Baby-Friendly designation, and her work to improve the lives of women and their children in the community.
A review of Hospital Emergency Management and Security was given by Director Tracy Pelt, and the group ended the day with a tour of the facility.
