Carolina Pines Regional Medical Center: Carolina Pines Regional Medical Center Reverts to Zero-Visitor Policy

Visitor restrictions 1 0

Carolina Pines Regional Medical Center issued the following announcement on August 19.

Carolina Pines Regional Medical Center announced today that due to a surge of COVID-19 positive patients within the facility, it is reverting to a zero-visitor policy, effective immediately. Exceptions: outpatient surgery patients will be allowed one well support person, labor and delivery patients will be allowed their significant other and one well visitor, and pediatric patients will be allowed two well visitors.

At Carolina Pines, our top priority is safeguarding the health and wellbeing of our patients, providers, employees, and community. We continue to closely monitor the prevalence of COVID-19 in our community and follow state and federal guidance as we adapt our operations to safely care for and support our patients.

“Here at Carolina Pines, we value the important role that loved ones play in healing and recovery. Restricting visitation during this time remains one of the most difficult decisions we’ve had to make” says Christy Moody, Chief Nursing Officer. “These additional restrictions have been put in place to help limit any potential spread of COVID-19 as cases and hospitalizations in the region increase rapidly, fueled by the Delta variant. We look forward to welcoming family and friends again when it is safe to do so.”

Please remember that all patients and visitors must enter through the Emergency Department entrance of the facility and will be screened for COVID-19 symptoms upon arrival. All visitors must wear a mask at all times, even when in a patient room.

Carolina Pines Regional Medical Center strongly encourages everyone 12 and older to get the COVID-19 vaccine, which has proven to be safe and highly effective in controlling the spread of COVID-19. COVID-19 vaccine appointments are available at the Carolina Pines Medical Group Vaccine Clinic, Suite 108, by calling 843.656.0101.

Carolina Pines suggests that the community continues checking our website, cprmc.com, and social media pages for the latest updates on our visitation policy, as it could potentially be modified in the coming days and weeks depending on the prevalence of COVID-19 activity within our facility.
