Sen. Lindsey Graham met with former President Donald Trump last weekend and he spoke highly of President Biden’s predecessor, saying that the real estate mogul is focused on the 2022 election.

Graham spoke with reporters and told them that Trump was already in high gear as he prepares for the 2022 election with the intention of getting the “best team in the field.”

The South Carolina senator, who publicly rebuked Trump for the Jan. 6 riots in the Capitol, is now speaking highly of the former president. He said that Trump is busy “working the phones, talking to folks,” doing his best to help the Republican Party win big in the 2022 election.

Despite losing reelection in 2020, Trump is still a major figure in the Republican Party. The former president’s team recently announced that Trump will give a speech on Feb. 28 — his first public speech since leaving Washington, D.C., and the White House.

Trump’s team said that he will touch on topics such as the direction of the Republican Party and America’s stance on China. The team said that Trump intends to stand up to China in his speech.

The speech will also touch on Trump’s war against big tech companies. He’s expected to speak about breaking down the monopoly of big tech and upholding the First Amendment, which he claims he was barred from exercising when he was banned from Twitter and other social media platforms earlier in January.
