Charleston median home prices rose by 2.9% in 2020

The median sale price of a home sold in 2020 in Charleston rose by $9,050 while total sales decreased by 6.4%, according to BlockShopper.com.

From January through December of 2020, there were 2,966 homes sold, with a median sale price of $318,750 - a 2.9% increase over the $309,700 median sale price for the previous year. There were 3,170 homes sold in Charleston in 2019.

The median sales tax in Charleston for the most recent year with available data, 2019, was $1,635, approximately 0.5% of the median home sale price for 2020.
