James Island home prices rise in 2018

The median sale price of a home sold in 2018 in James Island rose by $21,000 while total sales decreased by 12.4%, according to BlockShopper.com.

From January through December of 2018, there were 169 homes sold, with a median sale price of $305,000 - a 7.4% increase over the $284,000 median sale price for the previous year. There were 193 homes sold in James Island in 2017.

The median sales tax in James Island for the most recent year with available data, 2015, was $1,253, approximately 0.4% of the median home sale price for 2018.
