Charleston home prices rise in the third quarter of 2018

The median sale price of a home sold in the third quarter of 2018 in Charleston rose by $25,000 while total sales decreased by 10.3%, according to BlockShopper.com.

From July through September of 2018, there were 499 homes sold, with a median sale price of $300,000 - a 9.1% increase over the $275,000 median sale price for the same period of the previous year. There were 556 homes sold in Charleston in the third quarter of 2017.

The median sales tax in Charleston for the most recent year with available data, 2015, was $1,430, approximately 0.5% of the median home sale price for the third quarter of 2018.
