Charleston home prices rise in the second quarter of 2019

The median sale price of a home sold in the second quarter of 2019 in Charleston rose by $31,600 while total sales decreased by 16.7%, according to BlockShopper.com.

From April through June of 2019, there were 423 homes sold, with a median sale price of $320,000 - a 11% increase over the $288,400 median sale price for the same period of the previous year. There were 508 homes sold in Charleston in the second quarter of 2018.

The median sales tax in Charleston for the most recent year with available data, 2015, was $1,430, approximately 0.4% of the median home sale price for the second quarter of 2019.
