The South Carolina State softball team will finish its regular season on the road against South Carolina in a non-conference matchup, according to an April 28 announcement. The game is scheduled for Tuesday evening at Carolina Softball Stadium, with first pitch set for 6 p.m. Admission will be free.

This contest marks the last opportunity for both teams to prepare ahead of their respective postseason competitions. South Carolina State enters the game with a record of 20-18 overall and holds a 12-9 mark in the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference, tying them for third place in conference standings. South Carolina has posted a 29-22 overall record and is currently 7-14 in Southeastern Conference play.

The two teams have met once earlier this season, when South Carolina defeated South Carolina State by a score of 5-1 on April 23 in Columbia.

South Carolina State University participates at the National Collegiate Athletic Association Division I level and sponsors teams across fourteen sports, including women’s volleyball, men’s and women’s tennis, cross country, basketball, indoor and outdoor track and field, softball, women’s soccer, and football.
