The South Carolina State softball team lost to the University of South Carolina on April 28 in a game played at the Carolina Softball Stadium, with a final score of 9-1.

This result leaves South Carolina State with an overall record of 20 wins and 19 losses, while the University of South Carolina improves its record to 30 wins and 22 losses. The Bulldogs recorded six hits in their twenty-four at bats and struck out eleven times during the game.

The loss comes as South Carolina State prepares for postseason play. The team has secured the number three seed in the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Softball Tournament, which is scheduled for May 6 through May 9 in Norfolk, Virginia.

South Carolina State University participates at the National Collegiate Athletic Association Division I level and currently fields teams in fourteen sports. All teams except women’s soccer compete in the MEAC.
