The South Carolina State Bulldogs men’s tennis team ended its season on May 1 with a 4-0 loss to the University of Central Florida in the first round of the NCAA Men’s Tennis Championships at the USTA National Campus in Orlando.

The match marked the conclusion of a successful year for South Carolina State, which finished with a 13-8 overall record. The team also secured its sixth consecutive Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Championship and the 21st conference title in school history.

Head coach Hardeep Judge has led both the men’s and women’s teams to significant achievements since his arrival, amassing a total of 36 league crowns and more than 700 career wins.

In singles play during Friday’s match, UCF’s Nicolas Oliveira defeated his opponent from South Carolina State 6-2, 6-2, while Clement Lemire won his match against another Bulldog player by scores of 6-1, 6-2. In doubles competition, Paul Colin and Yassine Dlimi earned a victory for UCF with a score of 6-3. The Knights entered the tournament ranked number fifteen nationally and improved their record to 21-6 following this win.
