The South Carolina Department of Transportation (SCDOT) has announced the temporary closure and detour of the Lorick Road bridge over North Branch in Richland County. The closure, set to begin on January 5, is necessary for repair work on the bridge. The road is expected to reopen by January 22, although these dates are subject to change based on weather conditions.

During this period, a detour route will be in place. A map of the detour can be accessed through the SCDOT website. Local traffic will still have access to Lorick Road, except at the bridge site itself. SCDOT advises drivers to reduce speed and remain attentive to signs and crews working in the area.
