On February 3, 2026, the South Carolina Department of Transportation announced it will hold a public information meeting about Phase 3C of the Carolina Crossroads Project. The event is scheduled for Tuesday, February 17, 2026, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the DoubleTree, 2100 Bush River Road, Columbia.
The Carolina Crossroads project aims to reconfigure and improve the I-20/I-26/I-126 interchanges and surrounding 14 miles of Interstate corridor in Lexington and Richland counties. The upcoming meeting will allow the public to review design plans and learn about anticipated traffic impacts during construction of Phase 3C.
According to the South Carolina Department of Transportation, “This drop-in style event on Tuesday, February 17 will provide the public with an opportunity to review design plans and learn about anticipated traffic impacts during construction of Phase 3C. Members of the project team will be available throughout the event to answer questions and discuss the project one-on-one with attendees.”
Phase 3C includes replacing the I-20 bridges over the Saluda River and CSX railroad. It also involves widening a portion of I-20 between US 378 (Sunset Boulevard) and Bush River Road to accommodate future lane additions in upcoming phases. Construction is set to begin in early 2026 and is expected to be completed in 2029.
Project displays shown at the meeting will be available online by the day of the event. Questions or comments can be submitted until March 4, 2026 via mail, email, or phone as listed on SCDOTCarolinaCrossroads.com/contact.
