The University of South Carolina announced on May 1 that its scheduled baseball game against Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge has been postponed because of inclement weather.

The postponement affects fans and players who were preparing for the Friday matchup. The teams will now play a day-night doubleheader on Saturday, with the first game starting at 1 p.m. Central Time (2 p.m. Eastern Time) and the second game beginning at 6:30 p.m. Central Time (7:30 p.m. Eastern Time). Both games will be available to stream on SEC Network Plus.

Officials cited morning weather conditions in Baton Rouge as well as forecasts predicting continued unfavorable conditions throughout the day as reasons for rescheduling the contest.

The change means both teams must adjust their plans quickly, playing two games in one day instead of spreading them out over two days. Such schedule changes are not uncommon during baseball season when weather becomes a factor.

Looking ahead, fans can follow both games online via streaming services provided by SEC Network Plus.
