U.S. Senators Lindsey Graham, Chuck Grassley, and Ron Johnson, along with 15 other colleagues, have sent a letter to Attorney General Pam Bondi and FBI Director Kash Patel requesting documents related to the Biden administration’s collection of call logs from sitting Members of Congress.

The senators’ request follows an October 6, 2025 briefing in which FBI Deputy Director Dan Bongino informed several senators that during Special Counsel Jack Smith’s elector case against former President Trump—referred to as Arctic Frost—the FBI collected and analyzed call logs from at least nine Members of Congress between January 4 and January 7, 2021. According to the press release, Deputy Director Bongino provided documentation listing the elected officials targeted by Jack Smith.

“The Biden administration’s blatant weaponization of the federal government should shock every American,” the Members wrote.

The letter instructs the Department of Justice (DOJ) and FBI to provide all records relating to the collection and analysis of these call logs, including communications with personnel from the Biden White House. If these materials are protected by grand jury secrecy rules, the Members requested that DOJ seek judicial authorization for their release.

“Given that these materials relate to an unprecedented collection of records and information on sitting MOCs and raise serious constitutional concerns, Congress’ need for these records clearly outweighs any interest in secrecy,” the Members noted.

The letter was signed by all known targeted Members: Senators Graham, Johnson, Marsha Blackburn, Bill Hagerty, Josh Hawley, Cynthia Lummis, Dan Sullivan, Tommy Tuberville; Rep. Mike Kelly; Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Grassley; and Judiciary Committee members John Cornyn, Mike Lee, Ted Cruz, Thom Tillis, John Kennedy, Eric Schmitt, Katie Britt and Ashley Moody.

More information about this letter is available in the New York Post.
