U.S. Senator Tim Scott (R-S.C.) has opened the application process for internships in his offices for the spring of 2026. The positions are available in Washington, D.C., as well as North Charleston, Columbia, and Greenville in South Carolina.

The internship program is open to both undergraduate and graduate students from all majors, with a particular focus on those studying governmental affairs, public policy, or communications. Interns will have the chance to work alongside public service professionals and gain experience in areas such as constituent services and federal policy.

In Washington, D.C., interns will be responsible for researching legislation, attending congressional hearings and briefings, assisting with press-related tasks, managing correspondence on various issues, answering phones, and performing other administrative duties. These responsibilities are designed to provide interns with a better understanding of the lawmaking process and help them improve their communication and customer service skills.

Interns working in South Carolina offices will engage directly with community projects while also handling phone calls, conducting research, and supporting daily office operations. Their work will involve assisting with matters that impact residents of South Carolina.

Internship hours are generally from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, but can be adjusted to fit students’ academic schedules. Students may also be eligible to receive course credit for completing the internship program.

Applications can be submitted online through Senator Scott’s website at https://www.scott.senate.gov/constituent-services/internships. For further information or questions about the program, applicants can contact the internship coordinator by email at internships@scott.senate.gov or by phone at (202) 224-6121.
