U.S. Senator Tim Scott (R-S.C.) recognized two longtime staff members, Deb Blickenstaff and Danielle Gibbs, for their 20 years of service assisting South Carolinians with federal government issues and community challenges.
Danielle Gibbs serves as deputy state director and is a native of the Upstate region. Deb Blickenstaff is the senator’s constituent services director and is legally blind. Both have been part of Senator Scott’s team since he began his tenure in the Senate, responding to thousands of constituent requests, coordinating outreach efforts, and representing South Carolina residents’ interests in Washington.
“Danielle and Deb represent the very best of public service,” said Sen. Scott. “For more than 20 years, they have worked diligently to serve the people of South Carolina with dedication, professionalism, and compassion. I am honored to work alongside them and grateful for their unwavering service.”
Deb Blickenstaff has become known for her effectiveness in handling complex casework and advocating for constituents despite her legal blindness. Her recognition comes during National Disability Employment Awareness Month, which highlights the contributions employees with disabilities make in workplaces.
Danielle Gibbs has played an important role as a liaison between Senator Scott’s office and Upstate communities by addressing local concerns and helping connect residents to federal resources.
The recognition event was held at Lockheed Martin’s Greenville facility, located in an area that exemplifies Senator Scott’s Opportunity Zones initiative.
