U.S. Senator Tim Scott of South Carolina met with Pete Hegseth, the nominee for United States Secretary of Defense under President-elect Trump. Following their meeting, Senator Scott released a statement emphasizing shared concerns about national security and the future direction of the military.

“Pete and I share similar concerns about our nation’s security and the direction our military is headed,” said Scott. He stressed the importance of innovation and modernization within the Department of Defense to address current challenges and threats.
