U.S. Senator Lindsey Graham, who serves as the Chairman of the Senate Budget Committee, announced that the committee will proceed with marking up the Fiscal Year 2025 budget resolution next week. This resolution is intended to serve as a framework for a reconciliation bill aimed at enhancing border security, strengthening military capabilities, and promoting American energy independence.

Graham emphasized his alignment with those advocating for Republican commitments on border security and addressing illegal immigration. He stated: “To those who believe that Republicans should fulfill their promises on border security, mass deportation of criminal illegal aliens: I agree.”

The upcoming actions by the Senate Budget Committee are designed to support Tom Homan, identified as the Trump Administration’s Border Czar. Graham explained that this would involve funding for completing the wall along the U.S.-Mexico border, hiring additional ICE agents to deport criminal illegal immigrants, and expanding detention facilities to prevent releasing potentially dangerous individuals into communities.

Describing it as a significant legislative move, Graham declared: “This will be the most transformational border security bill in the history of our country.” He concluded with a call to action: “It’s time to act.”
