Senate Banking Committee Chairman Tim Scott recently met with Bill Pulte, who has been nominated by President Trump to lead the Federal Housing Finance Agency (FHFA). The meeting took place in Washington, D.C., and focused on the agency’s role in overseeing major financial entities.

“The Federal Housing Finance Agency has an important mission to oversee Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, and the Federal Home Loan Bank System, which collectively support trillions in funding for mortgages to American families,” said Chairman Scott. He emphasized his discussion with Pulte regarding “the importance of ending the Biden administration’s politicization of the agency” and expressed his anticipation of collaborating on initiatives to enhance housing affordability and protect taxpayers while promoting free and competitive markets.
