The South Carolina Department of Transportation announced that it has closed a portion of Unity Church Road over the tributary to Toxaway Creek in Oconee County. The closure is for an expedited replacement of the bridge, and further updates will be provided by the department.

A detour route has been established as part of this closure. The department said that a map of the closure and detour is available. Unity Church Road will remain open to local traffic only during this period.

“SCDOT asks that drivers slow down and pay attention to signs and crews when driving through the area,” according to the South Carolina Department of Transportation.

Additional information about the project, including future updates, can be found according to the official roster page.
