The South Carolina Department of Transportation announced on March 31 that the bridge on Oconee Creek Road (S-37-129) crossing Oconee Creek in Oconee County has been closed for repairs.

According to the department, the closure is necessary due to the nature of the repair work and is required to allow crews to safely complete the project. Updates will be provided as work progresses.

A signed detour route has been established using Flat Shoals Road (S-37-129), Mountain View Road (S-37-173), Stamp Creek Road (SC-130), and Burnt Tanyard Road (S-37-24). Oconee Creek Road will remain open to local traffic only, except at the bridge.

The department asks motorists to slow down and drive safely near work zones. Further information about this closure can be found according to the official roster page.
