The South Carolina Department of Transportation (SCDOT) is set to close the I-26 Westbound Exit 187 and the SC 27 on-ramp to I-26 Eastbound in Berkeley County. The closure will start on September 14 at 9 p.m. and is expected to last until September 24. This measure is part of the ongoing I-26 Widening and SC 27 Interchange Project.

During this period, traffic on SC 27 will be redirected onto a new bridge, though SC 27 itself will remain open. SCDOT advises drivers to exercise caution, reduce speed, and follow signs as they navigate onto the new structure.

“SCDOT asks that drivers slow down and pay attention to crews and signs as they navigate on to the new bridge.”
