The South Carolina Department of Transportation announced on March 27 that it will hold a public information meeting regarding a proposed intersection improvement and bridge replacement project in Richland County.

The drop-in style meeting is scheduled for Thursday, April 9, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the fellowship hall of Fair Lawn United Methodist Church, located at 9203 Wilson Blvd., Columbia. Representatives from SCDOT will be present to speak with attendees and answer questions about the proposed project.

According to the announcement, the project involves replacing the existing bridge structure and constructing the roadway to meet current design and safety standards. The new roadway section will include two 11-foot travel lanes, along with 2-foot paved shoulders and 4-foot grassed shoulders.

SCDOT said that it will accept public comments on this project through April 30. Additional information about the project can be found at projectportal.scdot.org/LorickRoadBridgeReplacement.
