The South Carolina Department of Transportation announced on March 30 that it will hold a public information meeting regarding a proposed bridge replacement project in Cherokee County.
The drop-in style meeting is scheduled for Thursday, April 16, from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. at Blacksburg Elementary School, located at 402 Hardin Street in Blacksburg. Representatives from the department will be present to speak with attendees and answer questions about the proposed project.
According to the announcement, the project involves replacing the existing bridge structure with a new bridge designed to meet current design and safety standards. The said purpose of the project is to correct structural deficiencies found in the existing bridge.
