The South Carolina Department of Transportation (SCDOT) is set to hold a public information meeting regarding the bridge replacement project on US 76/378, also known as Garners Ferry Road, over US 601, McCords Ferry Road. The meeting will take place from 5 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, August 7, 2025, at Crossroads Park Community Center in Eastover.
During the session, SCDOT representatives will be present to discuss updated construction plans with community members. The format will be informal, with no scheduled presentations.
The construction plan involves directing two lanes of traffic from each direction onto newly improved ramps during the bridge work. Traffic will then continue back onto US 76/378. Temporary traffic signals are planned to help maintain flow at the intersection of US 76/378 and US 601. This approach aims to keep all lanes open and complete the bridge construction within approximately 14 months.
SCDOT is accepting public comments on this project from July 23 to August 22, 2025. Additional details can be found on their project website.
