SCDOT is organizing a public information meeting to discuss a proposed corridor improvement project on Interstate 26. The project, located between mile markers 145 (US 601) and 172 (US 15), spans Orangeburg and Dorchester counties. It aims to add one travel lane in each direction and enhance interchanges along the route.

The meeting will take place on Thursday, July 17, from 5 to 7 p.m. at New Vision Centre, located at 3699 Magnolia Street in Orangeburg, SC. SCDOT representatives will be present to engage with community members about the project. There will not be a formal presentation during the event.

Public comments on the project are open from July 2 to August 1, 2025. More details can be found at https://projectportal.scdot.org/i26improvements-mm145-172. Additional information about SCDOT projects is available on their public involvement meeting webpage.
