The South Carolina Department of Transportation announced on March 27 that Platt Springs Road between McCartha Road and Cannon Trail in Lexington County will be closed and detoured for a pipe repair beginning March 30.

The repair is scheduled to start at 9 a.m. on March 30 and is expected to conclude by April 3 at 4 p.m. During this period, a detour route has been established, with a map available from the department. Platt Springs Road will remain open to local traffic only, except at the specific site of the repair.

An update issued on April 3 said that delayed materials have caused the project to remain under detour. The department now expects the road to reopen early in the week of April 6.

The South Carolina Department of Transportation asks drivers to slow down and pay attention to signs and crews when traveling through the area.

Further details about the closure and updates can be found according to the official roster page.
