Rolls-Royce Solutions America Inc. has announced a significant expansion of its manufacturing operations in Aiken County, South Carolina. The company plans to invest $75 million, creating 60 new jobs as part of the expansion.

The facility, located at 660 Bettis Academy Road in Graniteville, will undergo a two-phase expansion to accommodate increased production of the mtu Series 4000 engines. This is in response to the growing demand for backup power systems in the data center industry. Construction is scheduled to begin in early 2026, with operations expected to commence by July 2027.

The Coordinating Council for Economic Development has approved job development credits related to this project.

“Today’s announcement underscores Rolls-Royce’s commitment to the U.S. market and demonstrates our robust manufacturing capabilities,” said Rolls-Royce North America CEO Adam Riddle. “We are proud to support America’s growing demand for reliable, domestically made energy systems that strengthen our nation’s energy independence and security.”

South Carolina Governor Henry McMaster remarked on the significance of the investment: “Rolls-Royce Solutions America Inc.’s expansion in Aiken County further positions South Carolina as a leader in advanced manufacturing.”

Secretary of Commerce Harry M. Lightsey III expressed excitement over the ongoing growth: “Today’s announcement reinforces Rolls-Royce Solutions America Inc.’s commitment to doing business in South Carolina.”

Aiken County Council Chairman Gary Bunker welcomed the expansion: “I’m pleased that Rolls-Royce is announcing this critical expansion at its Sage Mill Industrial Park location.”

Western SC Economic Development Partnership Board Chairman Gary Stooksbury congratulated Rolls-Royce on their continued leadership: “We congratulate Rolls-Royce on this exciting $75 million expansion of their Aiken County facilities.”
