Senate Banking Committee Chairman Tim Scott has expressed his support for Rodney Hood’s selection as Acting Comptroller of the Currency. President Trump made the appointment, and Scott issued a statement recognizing Hood’s career achievements.

“Congratulations to Rodney Hood on being named Acting Comptroller of the Currency. Throughout his accomplished career, Rodney has focused on expanding access to financial services and improving financial inclusion for all Americans,” stated Chairman Scott.

Scott emphasized the importance of the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC) in overseeing national banks. He added, “The OCC has a critical role chartering and supervising our national banks, and I look forward to Rodney ensuring the agency stays singularly focused on carrying out its important mission of safeguarding the safety and soundness of our banking system.”
