PRET Advanced Materials, LLC has announced plans to expand its operations in Florence County, South Carolina. The company will invest $18.5 million and expects to create 74 new jobs as part of the expansion.
Based in Johnsonville, PRET is a major supplier of thermoplastic resins in North America and has operated its South Carolina facility since 1955. The expansion includes new equipment and facility improvements at 520 Kingsburg Highway to support demand for new products. Operations are scheduled to begin by 2027. The Coordinating Council for Economic Development has provided a $50,000 Set-Aside grant to Florence County to help cover road improvement costs related to the project.
