The Presbyterian Blue Hose moved into first place after two rounds at the Big South Championship at Ocean Island Golf Club in Fripp Island, South Carolina, on April 27.

The event matters as it determines the standings going into the final round of stroke play, with teams and individual players competing for top positions in the championship.

Presbyterian posted a second round score of 284 (even par), making them the only team under par with a total score of 566 (-2) after two rounds. High Point holds second place with a score of 571 (+3). Sophomore Jeep Patrick is tied for third individually, recording a two-round total of 139 (-3), just two strokes behind the leaders heading into Wednesday’s final round. Patrick’s second round included five birdies and eleven pars.

Junior Spence Hagood and freshman James Rhodes are tied for sixth place with scores of 141 (-1). Hagood began his second round with an eagle on the first hole and finished his day at even par. Rhodes shot a one-over-par round highlighted by three birdies. Sophomore Richard Anaclerio sits tied for twenty-fourth place at +5 overall, while sophomore Gage Gaskins is tied for thirty-fifth at +8 following his five-birdie performance in round two.

The championship will continue as Presbyterian concludes stroke play in the third round on Tuesday, April 28.
