The Presbyterian College baseball team lost 10-6 to Radford in the final game of their weekend series at the PC Baseball Complex on April 26.
This result gave Radford the series win in Big South Conference play. The Blue Hose had briefly taken the lead in the fourth inning, but Radford scored six runs over the last three innings to secure victory.
Radford started strong, scoring twice in the first inning and adding another run with a home run in the second. Presbyterian responded by tying the game with three runs in their half of the third inning. Cam Mallo drove in Aidan Taylor with an RBI single, followed by a bases-loaded walk and a sacrifice fly from James Green that evened up the score.
Both teams traded leads through the middle innings. After an RBI double tied it for Radford, Matthew Rollison put Presbyterian back ahead with an RBI single. The Blue Hose held onto a one-run advantage until Radford drew a bases-loaded walk to tie it again in the seventh inning. In the eighth, Radford took control with an RBI single and then added four more runs in the ninth.
Bo Moody hit his first career home run for Presbyterian during Sunday’s game and reached base all four times he came up to bat. Freshman Aidan Taylor collected two hits for his second consecutive day doing so, while Emory Guilford also reached base three times. James Green’s streak of reaching base ended at eighteen games. Tristan McGregor made his eleventh start of this season as pitcher, throwing six innings before several relievers finished out for Presbyterian.
Looking ahead, Presbyterian will not play during midweek and is set to face The Citadel next weekend for a three-game series split between Clinton and Charleston.
