NSP Panels announces $4.75 million investment and new jobs in Marion County

NSP Panels, a manufacturer of acoustic panels, announced on March 18 it has established operations in Marion County with a $4.75 million investment that will create 63 new jobs.

The company’s expansion is expected to provide employment opportunities for local residents and contribute to the region’s economic development. NSP Panels produces acoustic absorptive and decorative wall panels as well as accessories for floors, walls, and ceilings for both commercial and residential use.

The company has begun operations at a 129,000-square-foot facility located at 3630 W. Highway 76 in Mullins. NSP Panels CEO Ed Bass said, “From day one, Marion County and state partners have welcomed us with exceptional support. We’re excited to bring new jobs and investment to the area and look forward to building strong relationships as we grow our presence in South Carolina.”

Governor Henry McMaster said, “By creating 63 jobs, NSP Panels will bring new opportunities to hardworking families in Marion County and build on our manufacturing industry’s strong reputation. We are proud to welcome NSP Panels to South Carolina and look forward to the company’s success here.” The Coordinating Council for Economic Development awarded a $300,000 grant to Marion County for building improvements related to this project.

Secretary of Commerce Harry M. Lightsey III also welcomed the announcement: “We are thrilled to welcome NSP Panels to Marion County. The company’s $4.75 million investment will support South Carolina’s economic development growth in the Pee Dee region and throughout our state.”

Marion County Council Chairman Dewayne Tennie said, “We are proud to welcome NSP Panels to Marion County. This investment reflects the strength of our workforce and the opportunities our community offers, and we look forward to the jobs and growth it will bring to our county.” NESA Executive Committee Chairman Yancey McGill added: “The North Eastern Strategic Alliance is excited to welcome NSP Panels as they establish operations in Marion County. We look forward to their investment bringing 63 new jobs and opportunities to the region.”

McMaster prioritized supporting South Carolinians through economic development, public safety, education, and heritage preservation according to the official website. He led as South Carolina’s 117th governor beginning Jan. 24, 2017; his authority extends across governance matters statewide according to official sources. As chief executive under state law he manages government operations from his office at Columbia’s State House as reported by official records.
