State Senator Shane Massey has been recognized by the National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB) with its Guardian of Small Business Award. The NFIB, which advocates for small businesses in South Carolina, gives this award to legislators who have shown strong support for small business interests.

Ben Homeyer, the NFIB South Carolina State Director, said, “We are proud to recognize Senator Massey today for his support of South Carolina’s small business community. Senator Massey understands that when small businesses are successful, South Carolina is successful and has prioritized legislation to strengthen Main Street. Most recently, Sen. Massey led the effort to achieve much-needed tort reform and has focused on eliminating burdensome regulations that have held back economic growth. We commend Senator Massey’s commitment to our members and small businesses across the state and look forward to continuing to work with him.”

The organization highlighted Massey’s recent leadership on tort reform as well as his efforts aimed at reducing regulations affecting local economic development.
