South Carolina Attorney General Alan Wilson has announced the arrest of Theodore Keith Green, Jr., a 19-year-old from Newberry, South Carolina. Green faces two charges related to the sexual exploitation of a minor. The arrest was made by Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force investigators from the Newberry County Sheriff’s Office, with assistance from the Attorney General’s Office, which is also part of the state’s ICAC Task Force.
The investigation began after authorities received a CyberTipline report from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. Investigators allege that Green distributed and possessed files containing child sexual abuse material.
Green was taken into custody on October 23, 2025. He has been charged with one count of sexual exploitation of a minor in the second degree and one count in the third degree. Both are felony offenses under South Carolina law and carry potential sentences of up to 10 years in prison each.
The Attorney General’s Office will prosecute the case.
Attorney General Wilson emphasized, “All defendants are presumed innocent unless and until they are proven guilty in a court of law.”
According to information provided by officials, child sexual abuse material (CSAM) is now used as a term instead of “child pornography” because it more accurately describes the nature of these crimes and avoids any implication that minors could be consenting participants. The terminology shift reflects global efforts to address such offenses more precisely.
