U.S. Senator Lindsey Graham, who serves as the Chairman of the Senate Budget Committee, has released the legislative text for the Homeland Security section of a reconciliation bill. This section addresses border security funding requested by President Trump and his administration.

Senator Graham stated, “Senate Republicans had a terrific briefing today from White House Deputy Chief of Staff Stephen Miller in support of President Trump’s border security request.” He emphasized his commitment to ensuring that the President’s plan receives full funding, noting, “As Budget Chairman, I will do my best to ensure that the President’s border security plan is fully funded because I believe it has been fully justified.”

Graham expressed disagreement with another proposal within the Senate. “I respectfully disagree with Chairman Paul’s proposal to cut the Trump plan by more than 50 percent,” he said. He reiterated the importance of fulfilling President Trump’s promise regarding border security: “The President promised to secure our border. His plan fulfills that promise. The Senate must do our part.”

The full legislative text and a summary document are available for public viewing.
