Tymarious Nydarious Thompson, a 24-year-old resident of Lancaster, South Carolina, has been sentenced to 15 years in federal prison for his role in a drug conspiracy involving methamphetamine, cocaine, and marijuana.
Investigators determined that Thompson worked with Mikel Stewart and others to obtain and distribute more than 500 grams of methamphetamine as well as quantities of cocaine and marijuana. In 2019, law enforcement searched Thompson’s home and discovered seven pounds of marijuana, a sawed-off shotgun, a handgun, ammunition, and counterfeit money. Authorities also conducted several controlled purchases of pure ice methamphetamine from Thompson.
A second search in 2020 led to the seizure of over 198 grams of pure ice methamphetamine, additional marijuana and crack cocaine, another firearm, and more than $4,000 in cash. Despite these discoveries, officials said Thompson continued selling ice methamphetamine to an undercover agent.
United States District Judge Mary Geiger Lewis sentenced Thompson to 180 months in prison followed by five years of supervised release. Federal sentencing guidelines do not allow parole.
The investigation was carried out by the Department of Homeland Security Investigations along with the Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office, Lancaster Police Department, and York County Sheriff’s Office. Assistant U.S. Attorney William K. Witherspoon is prosecuting the case.
