South Carolina sophomore forward Joyce Edwards was named on April 28 to the United States team for the 2026 FIBA 3×3 Women’s Series, which will begin May 1 in Chengdu, China, according to USA Basketball. This marks her second time participating in a 3×3 assignment with USA Basketball after competing last summer at the FIBA 3×3 Nations League America Conferences event in Punta Arenas, Chile.

Edwards’ selection is her sixth overall for USA Basketball events since her first appearance in 2023. She has previously earned three gold medals in traditional five-on-five competitions: the 2025 FIBA AmeriCup, the 2024 FIBA U18 AmeriCup, and the 2023 FIBA U19 World Cup. Last season marked her debut playing under the three-on-three format.

The new season of the FIBA 3×3 Women’s Series will start on Friday, May 1, with Team USA scheduled to compete in Pool D. The team will face off against the winner of Qualifying Draw B at 2 p.m. Eastern Time and then play Australia at approximately 3:40 a.m. Eastern Time. The quarterfinals, semifinals, and final matches are set for Saturday, May 2.

USA Basketball also announced that its women’s squad is expected to participate in another series event taking place May 6-8 in Manila, Philippines. Additional competitions may be added later as more details become available.

For these initial events of the season, Edwards will join MiLaysia Fulwiley (Louisiana State University), Mikaylah Williams (Louisiana State University), and Sahara Williams (University of Oklahoma) on Team USA. The organization said that other athletes could be added as needed throughout the series.

Games during this competition are played on a half court with a ten-minute game clock and a twelve-second shot clock; victory goes either to the first team reaching twenty-one points or whoever leads when time expires.
