After winning against No. 1 Oregon State, Clemson will play the ACC Champion Notre Dame in the College Cup on Dec. 10 at 6 p.m. at WakeMed Soccer Park in Cary, North Carolina.

The victory over Oregon State came as a great surprise with MSN describing Oregon State as having “a season for the ages” in a year where they won their first PAC-12 title. This will be Clemson’s ninth appearance in the College Cup.

“Incredibly happy and proud of the team,” Clemson soccer head coach Mike Noonan said. “Oregon State is a quality team that was deserving of the No. 1 ranking. We got stronger as the game went on, and I felt it fitting that we prevailed to advance. We spoke all week about doing something very hard. Trust, belief in each other and hard work carried the Tigers tonight. We couldn’t be happier to represent Clemson and the ACC in this year’s College Cup.”

With the game tied at 1-1 after two overtime periods, No. 8 Clemson advanced to the College Cup by edging the Beavers 4-3 in penalty kicks, following two 10-minute overtime periods without scoring. The winner of the game between Clemson and Notre Dame will play against the winner of No. 2 Washington vs. No. 3 Georgetown in the National Championship match. The match against Notre Dame will be televised by ESPN U and stream on the ESPN App.

Tickets for the Notre Dame match are said to still be available. Notre Dame won the first match up between the teams this season in a 2-0 victory on Oct. 9. It will be a difficult match for Clemson, as they are only 3-4-1 in the NCAA semifinal and this Notre Dame team features four all ACC players, including the prolific goal scorer, senior forward Jack Lynn. The eventual championship game will be held on Dec. 12 at 11 a.m., according to a report from MSN.
