The South Carolina Department of Transportation (SCDOT) has announced an extension to the closure of the I-126 West off-ramp to Colonial Life Boulevard. Initially set to reopen on December 1, 2025, the ramp will now remain closed until January 10, 2026, due to unforeseen construction delays. This closure is part of the ongoing Carolina Crossroads Project aimed at improving traffic flow in the area.

Motorists are being rerouted via Greystone Boulevard, Broad River Road, and Bush River Road to reach Colonial Life Boulevard. SCDOT has installed message boards, lane closures, and detour signs along these routes to assist drivers. The department advises caution when driving near work zones and encourages drivers to follow posted signs and directions.

For further details and updates on the project, SCDOT directs the public to visit their Carolina Crossroads project webpage. Inquiries can also be made through their project hotline at 800-601-8715.
