Junior Vairana Heck and sophomore Eila Galitsky were named to the Second Team All-Southeastern Conference, according to a May 1 announcement from the league. The recognition comes as both athletes represent the No. 24 ranked South Carolina Gamecocks in women’s golf.

The selection of Heck and Galitsky is significant as it highlights their individual achievements during a competitive season. Both players have contributed notable performances that helped elevate their team’s standing within the conference.

Heck, currently ranked No. 38 by Clippd, has achieved her best season so far with a career-best scoring average of 71.73, leading her team in both scoring and top-20 finishes with six out of nine stroke play starts. She also secured her first career win at the Shootout at Wachesaw on March 9 and finished tied for eighth at the SEC Championship with a personal best score over three rounds. This marks Heck’s second time being selected for Second Team All-SEC after earning similar honors as a freshman in the 2023-24 season.

Galitsky, who was First Team All-SEC last year and shared SEC Co-Freshman of the Year honors, leads this season with four top-10 finishes and has posted twelve rounds at par or better—more than any teammate. Her scoring average stands at 71.96, just behind Heck’s mark, while she holds a Clippd ranking of No. 40.

South Carolina now counts thirty-five All-SEC selections over nineteen seasons under head coach Kalen Anderson, who has been named SEC Coach of the Year five times during her tenure.

Both golfers are among four Gamecocks chosen to compete individually in NCAA Regionals from May 11–13: Heck will join freshman Molly McLean at Tallahassee Regional; Galitsky will compete alongside junior Maylis Lamoure at Louisville Regional. The highest-finishing individual not on an advancing team from each regional will qualify for the NCAA Championship scheduled later this month.
