A Greenville man has been arrested on charges related to the production of child sexual abuse material, according to an announcement from South Carolina Attorney General Alan Wilson. Deangelo Rashawn Martin, 21, was taken into custody by investigators with the Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force from the Greenville County Sheriff’s Office. The Attorney General’s Office, also part of the state’s ICAC Task Force, assisted in the investigation.

The investigation began after a CyberTipline report from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) identified Martin as a suspect. Authorities allege that Martin produced child sexual abuse material.

Martin was arrested on November 19, 2025. He faces two counts of first-degree sexual exploitation of a minor under South Carolina law (§16-15-395), which is classified as a felony. Each count carries a potential sentence of up to 20 years in prison.

The Attorney General’s Office will prosecute the case.

Attorney General Wilson stated: “All defendants are presumed innocent unless and until they are proven guilty in a court of law.”

The press release notes that child sexual abuse material (CSAM) is now used as a more accurate term for these crimes because “pornography” can imply consent, which is not possible in cases involving minors. The term CSAM is being adopted globally to reflect this distinction.
