U.S. Senator Lindsey Graham (R-South Carolina) has expressed strong support for President Donald Trump’s recent actions aimed at addressing public safety concerns in Washington, D.C. In a statement released Monday, Graham backed the president’s decision to activate the National Guard and federalize the DC Metro Police Department.

“I completely and totally support President Trump’s efforts to bring law, order and safety to our nation’s capital by activating the National Guard and federalizing the DC Metro Police Department,” Graham said.

He cited rising rates of violent crime in Washington, D.C., as a key reason for these measures. “There is a law and order crisis in our nation’s capital that must be addressed. It is embarrassing to our country that the District of Columbia has off the chart rates of violent crime, including murder and carjackings,” Graham stated.

Graham concluded his remarks with a direct message to President Trump: “Mr. President: Do what you must to make the District of Columbia safe again.”
