Governor Henry McMaster will chair a meeting of the Homeland Security Advisory Council (HSAC) on Wednesday, December 10, at 9:00 AM. The meeting will take place at the Department of Homeland Security Headquarters in Washington, D.C.

McMaster was appointed chair of HSAC by President Donald J. Trump in April. The first meeting under his leadership occurred on July 2, 2025.

The HSAC was established on March 19, 2002. Its role is to provide the Secretary of Homeland Security with independent advice based on the experience and expertise of its members from both public and private sectors. According to the release, “This new-look, America First HSAC will draw upon a deep well of public and private sector experience from homeland security experts committed to fulfilling President Trump’s agenda.”

The upcoming meeting will also include United States Secretary of Homeland Security Kristi Noem and other council members. Media interested in attending via live stream are required to register by providing their full name and email address to HSAC@hq.dhs.gov.
