Governor Henry McMaster has appointed Alena Beth Dorsey as the new Saluda County Auditor. This decision follows the resignation of Memmus Forrest, who will leave office on December 31, 2025.
Dorsey is currently the associate auditor in the Saluda County Auditor’s Office and lives in Saluda, South Carolina. According to the governor’s office, she will serve in this role until a successor is selected according to legal requirements.
Memmus Forrest, also from Saluda, has been serving as the county auditor since 2014.
“Governor Henry McMaster has issued Executive Order 2025-41 appointing Alena Beth Dorsey as Saluda County Auditor following the resignation of current Auditor Memmus Forrest, effective December 31, 2025,” stated the release.
“Dorsey is a resident of Saluda, S.C., and currently serves as associate auditor in the Saluda County Auditor’s Office.”
“Forrest, a resident of Saluda, S.C., has served as the Saluda County Auditor since 2014.”
“Dorsey will serve until a successor qualifies as provided by law.”
