Governor Henry McMaster, Lieutenant Governor Pamela S. Evette, and First Lady Peggy McMaster released their public schedules for the week of May 4 in Columbia, S.C., according to a May 5 announcement.
The release details upcoming official engagements involving the state’s top leaders. These schedules inform residents about government activities and events that involve state leadership.
On Tuesday, May 5 at 10:30 AM, Governor McMaster will hold a press conference with Assistant Secretary Alex Adams from the U.S. Administration for Children and Families within the Department of Health and Human Services. The event will also include South Carolina Department of Social Services Director Tony Catone, members of the General Assembly, and other officials to announce South Carolina’s participation in the “A Home for Every Child” initiative at the Statehouse first floor lobby in Columbia.
On Wednesday, May 6 at 7:30 PM, Lieutenant Governor Evette is scheduled to speak at the 20th Annual Law Enforcement Memorial held at the Law Enforcement Monument on Statehouse Grounds in Columbia.
The previous week’s schedule included meetings with national dignitaries such as His Majesty King Charles III and Her Majesty Queen Camilla during an arrival ceremony at The White House on April 28; meetings with U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent; presentations of the Order of the Palmetto to Bill Sandifer and Frank Rogers; addresses to local organizations; office hours; policy meetings; economic development discussions; constituent meetings; calls with federal officials including Homeland Security Secretary Markwayne Mullin; and engagement with students on STEM Signing Day.
