The Georgetown County Sheriff’s Office announced on May 2 that several arrests were made after tips from residents led deputies to a house in Plantersville. According to the statement, the Street Crimes Unit, Narcotics Division, and SWAT team executed a search warrant on Idols Lane earlier this week.

Officials said that during the search, deputies found 24.38 grams of suspected fentanyl, 14.26 grams of suspected methamphetamine, and 25 pills believed to be cyclobenzaprine hydrochloride. They also located digital scales and two firearms, including a sawed-off shotgun.

Nicholas Rogers, age 36 of Georgetown, was charged with trafficking fentanyl (14-28 grams), trafficking methamphetamine (14-28 grams), unlawful possession to distribute prescription drugs without a prescription, possession of a weapon during a violent crime, and possession of a sawed-off shotgun. The statement said Rogers is currently being held at the Georgetown County Detention Center.

Other individuals arrested earlier in the week include Wanda Nunnery for damaging or tampering with evidence as well as drug distribution charges; Christopher Nichols for drug distribution and driving under suspension; Rodney Cooper for assaulting an officer along with multiple drug offenses; Walter Johnson for possession and distribution of controlled substances; and Kadence Whiteside for repeated drug-related offenses.

The sheriff’s office manages its main facility at 430 North Fraser Street as well as the detention center at 2394 Browns Ferry Road according to its official website. The detention center has capacity for up to 212 inmates as noted by the agency.

The department states it works closely with community members through programs such as Citizens Academy, Explorer Program, Neighborhood Watch initiatives, Ride Along opportunities and Active Shooter Training according to information provided online. The sheriff’s office is affiliated with Georgetown County government as stated on its website, offering enforcement services alongside corrections, judicial functions and communications units as outlined by officials.

To further support public safety efforts beyond law enforcement operations like these recent arrests in Plantersville, trailer stamping services are also available through the department to help deter thefts and assist in identification according to official resources.
